A day after getting the Garcias off to return to CA, we drove north for HIM’s Engagement Matters Weekend, Dec. 7-8, and as is our pattern, we packed in as much as we could during those days in our beloved Northeast.
It's a New Year
“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof . . .” —Psalm 24:1
This glorious sunset welcomed us home last night as we returned from spending most of the first month of 2024 in the west. New year, old truths. The earth is the Lord’s . . . and though there are many discouraging realities of life on earth, our hope continues to be in Him: creator, sovereign, faithful, good God. How reassuring that is!!
From Sea to Shining Sea
It wasn’t beginning to look like Christmas back when this photo was snapped on October 28! In fact, at that point, it seemed like Christmas was a VERY long way off.
And here we are. Christmas was here. And now it’s in our rear view mirror.
We’re continually being confronted with the reality that the older we get, the faster time goes.
Rest In Him
Traditions and Highlights
We’re already through the first half of the first month of the first year of the 2020 decade.
Wow!!
As is often the case, we’re flying today as I compose this first blog entry of the new year. And as usual, it is lovely to have six hours of internet and phone free time to reflect. We’ve only been in our own bed for 7 nights since Dec. 12, which accounts for the lack of quiet, reflective time needed to compose this reflection.
