What People Are Saying about HIM’s books
Paul, many years ago you gave me your book Letters to My Daughters. I am embarrassed to say it has sat on my shelf since you gave it to me. Last night I felt the prompting of the Holy Spirit to pick up your book. So, this afternoon once my work was done, I began reading it. I have finished 43 of your 52 letters so far. I am pretty sure I will finish the rest of them this evening.
Thank you for taking the time to pen these letters to your girls. So many fathers today are not engaged in their kids’ lives, let alone passing along such wisdom. (I am thankful to have had a father who loved the Lord, was engaged in our lives, and imparted wisdom.) I also appreciate that as a family you decided to share them with a world that desperately needs it. The conversation style was a great format. I had moments of laughing and conviction as I worked my way through the pages I have read thus far.
Though I wish I had read your book when you gave it to me, reading it now has been very timely (Holy Spirit is always on time). The past few months, I have been “Taking a look before taking the hook” with a friend of mine. Many of your letters pointed out things (faith, qualities, values, etc.) that I have been observing to see if they are present in his life (I am happy to report they are; also, mom and dad have met him and are approving). It is very probable that in the coming months we may begin dating. And on that point, thank you for letter 40 – practical wisdom, and such a good reminder for single Christians of all age.
Anyway, thank you again for the blessing of your book.

I gotta give a shout out to Virginia Friesen for her book Raising a Trailblazer.
It walks you through 4 important milestones in your child's life: turning 13, turning 16, turning 18, and turning 21. Each milestone celebrates a specific Biblical value that will help you to build your child up to pursue their love of God and share that love with others.
Each birthday comes with gift suggestions to illustrate that milestone's value. For instance, the 18th birthday is Truth and Grace, and a gift suggestion is a pair of silver candlesticks. This comes from Les Miserables, when Valjean is shown grace by the bishop when he presents Valjean with two silver candlesticks. As we are releasing our "trailblazers" out into the world, we remind them that they are to follow Christ's example of dealing with people in Truth and Grace.
Thank you, Virginia, for this wonderful book.
