Engagement Matters - for engaged and pre-engaged couples

"Engagement Matters" Conference

April 6-7, 2013
Weston, MA

Believing that marriage is the second most important decision in life . . . Engagement Matters is an experience designed to help engaged or pre-engaged couples confirm God's best for them in their relationship with each other, and to help equip couples for a marriage in which both God and one another are honored. In our time together we will discuss the areas of Convictions, Character, Compatibility, and Chemistry. During each session on these areas, couples will first have an opportunity to reflect together and discuss the topic, and then hear a presentation to the whole group.

A special session on temperaments will be devoted to the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, an instrument that will help you discover your unique temperament and how the pairing of different temperaments can strengthen marriage.

The goal in all these sessions is to help you come to a place of confirmation about the direction your relationship should take, as well as offering you tools to help you start a life together. We hope you'll join us!

$150 per couple
Fee includes a continental breakfast on Saturday and Sunday,
a full lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and all materials.

Saturday, April 27, 2013
Lynnfield, MA

Worth It is a one-day seminar designed to encourage and equip teens and parents towards God's best in opposite-sex relationships. Through speakers and workshops you will discover that you are worth waiting for God's best. God's plan is worth the wait; God's gift of sex is worth the wait.

Join hundreds of parents and teens for this fun and informative day that likely will change your life and the way you look at God, yourself, and relationships.

Our youth face so many choices today. With the constant strain of often relentless peer pressure, it's hard for kids to make the right choices. H.I.M.'s youth programs and resources specifically address the choices facing them and how God would want us to make those choices.

Keeping Up with Paul and Virginia
Pearl Haven Christian Center
Speaking at Pearl Haven Christian Center in Mbale, Uganda

Paul and Virginia traveled "all over the map" during January and February, speaking at Bayside Church in California, being interviewed at Focus on the Family in Colorado Springs, addressing a marriage conference at Mission Hills Church in Denver, then speaking to teens at Front Range Christian School, back to Boston to do counseling, then on to Pennsylvania for a Marriage Encounter banquet, then to Virginia to preach at the New Beginnings Church in Harrisonburg on Sunday morning, followed by an FCA huddle the next evening.

Believe it or not, from there they went back to California for more speaking, then to NY to speak at a marriage conference, on to Florida for the annual Pro Athletes Outreach (PAO) conference, and then to Newport, RI, for our own sold-out H.I.M. marriage conference.

You can follow the details of all these adventures, as usual, on their blog, but before you go there, let me tell you where they went next:  to Uganda!  They have just returned (last weekend) from that 12-day visit to Mbale, Uganda, where they ministered to orphans, special-needs kids, pastors and their wives, and to both staff as well as moms and children at the CURE pediatric hospital.  One of the major highlights of their trip was hosting the first ever marriage getaway for Mbale-area pastors and their wives.   What a blessing it was to those couples, who have sent many words of thanks to Paul and Virginia for all that they learned.  Many of you here in the States had a direct impact on their lives as you prayed and gave to make it possible.  Thank you!  May God continue to richly bless them and you, all our brothers and sisters in Christ.
